About us

A tailored approach to performance, pressure, and change.

Us includes you. Us is athletes, professionals, and high-achieving individuals who are used to functioning at a high level, but have reached a point where something isn’t working the way it used to.

At Waterstone Psychology, many of the people we work with don’t look like they’re struggling from the outside. We often describe our work as helping people thrive.

They’re capable, responsible and used to managing a lot. And, although things tend to look right from the outside:

  • performance feels less consistent

  • stress is harder to recover from

  • motivation or confidence isn’t as reliable

  • relationships or communication feel strained

Our work is designed for people who want a clear, effective way forward.

We focus on:

  • understanding what’s driving the challenge

  • developing strategies that work in real life

  • building consistency over time

  • applying insight in a way that leads to sustained adaptation

HE/HIM

Performance means different things to everyone. For some, it is the intentional pursuit of a dream or goal while for others it may be getting unstuck. Understanding where we are, and where we want to be, is the starting point for meaningful change and growth.

Chris works with clients to build confidence, mindset, and clarity by identifying resources and readiness. He helps clients engage with their current circumstances while focusing on creating a purposeful, intentional future. His goal is to support clients in developing the toolkit needed to navigate challenges independently.

As a business owner, athlete, and coach, Chris has experienced the highs of achievements and the lows of setbacks. These experiences inform his perspective. His coaching background in physical performance and health adds important depth to his whole person approach to mental health.

Chris believes that individualized, tailored support—grounded in each client’s strengths and experiences—is essential. His training and experience include over 20 years in competitive sport, 17 years of coaching, a B.A. in Behavioural Science and Kinesiology (2009), and an M.A. in Counselling Psychology ( 2026).

Chris works with men navigating stress, pressure, and the demands of high-responsibility roles. This includes first responders, as well as individuals in environments where expectations are high, support is limited, and stepping back isn’t always an option.

His approach is direct, structured, and focused on helping clients move forward in a practical way.

In sessions, Chris focuses on:

  • cutting through what’s not working

  • identifying patterns that are keeping things stuck

  • building strategies that can be applied immediately

  • helping clients regain a sense of control and direction

The work is collaborative, but grounded in action—not just discussion.

Who Chris works best with

  • Men dealing with stress, pressure, or burnout

  • First responders and those in high-demand roles

  • Individuals navigating anger, shutdown, or communication challenges

  • Clients who prefer a direct, no-nonsense approach

Good fit if you:

  • don’t want overly abstract or open-ended therapy

  • want practical strategies you can use right away

  • are dealing with stress but aren’t interested in overanalyzing it

  • prefer a straightforward, action-focused style

Chris’ schedule will reopen for new clients in June 2026.

SHE/HER

We train our bodies and  skills so we can succeed. Most of us don’t extend that same effort toward mental performance or our relationships.

Tapping into your strengths is central to Erin’s approach. Erin will provide stability and safety as we combine new tools with what is currently working for you. She will support you in processing challenges and finding space for movement so you can progress with purpose and intent. As an athlete who experienced burnout, but eventually rediscovered her love of sport, she gets how hard it can be to work consistently toward a goal and overcome the obstacles that stand in our way.

While Erin specializes in working with athletes, her services can help us all to show up as we want to in any environment. Erin works with all of her clients to focus on what really matters so we can harness inner resources and thrive.

Erin’s approach combines her experiences growing up as a speed swimmer in Saskatchewan with extensive formal training. This training includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychosocial Oncology (2018), PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (2016), Masters of Science (2011) and Counselling (2020), and a Bachelor of Science (2007).

In our work together, the focus is on:

  • identifying what’s driving the current challenges

  • rebuilding confidence, clarity, and consistency

  • developing strategies that hold under pressure

  • creating sustainable ways of functioning at a high level

Clients often come in feeling stuck, inconsistent, or burned out.
Our work is about helping you move forward in a way that is both effective and sustainable.
